oh, tell us are you
big or small ?
big or small ?
full name • Maria "Cayre" Keirian of Ullry
date of birth • she can't say she's sure, but she's somewhere in her teen-aged years...
age • unknown.
sex • female. (She is sure of this.)
be careful not to
lose your head
[/size]lose your head
hair color • red.
eye color • it depends, usually brown. In certain times of day, her eyes are different shades of hazel and gray.
distinctive characteristics • she is very headstrong and trustworthy, but also listens to her heart before her mind.
overall appearance • she is quite a character when it comes to physical looks. Even though she looks delicate, her movements are dominant and masculine, unlike the delicate motions that one would assume of a lady like herself. Her hair is a rather fiery shade of red to match her personality. She can often be found in green dresses, since it is, after all, definitely her color of choice.
Cayre is very tall for her age. She is around seven feet, give or take a few inches. Akin to a butterfly or other woodland creature, she can't stand to wear dull, muted colors, and far prefers dazzling shades of green and pink.
how many miles

to wonderland ?
likes • she likes singing, sleeping, and (nearing the point of obsession) Stayne, but also has a more improper side, with likes along the lines of romancing and fighting.
dislikes • she can't stand competition, and to that extent, the Red Queen. She also does not enjoy losing a fight, getting hurt, being caught, and thoughts of death.
fears • she is deathly afraid of being alone. From age 13, she has been left in the far side of Underland, being raised by both the animals and the colorful figures who live there; ever since she's discovered the larger part of society in Underland, she has sworn not to go back. While she had woodland creatures and a human friend now and then, she cannot stand the idea of the 'solitude' she once faced.
secret • she secretly is quite wild, far too wild to be a proper lady of Underland.

family • she doesn't remember much of her family except for her nurse. Miss Maudie was a younger nurse, in her late twenties when Cayre saw her last.
history • Cayre has had quite a confusing history, to be sure.
Once upon a time (as all stories seem to start) there was a family. While having noble blood pulsing through their veins, they also had very little money. These were the Keirians, the Duke and Duchess of Ullry. The Duke and Duchess wanted to keep their family appearing wealthy, so all of their little funds went to their high-class clothing and health care to keep themselves looking their best.
When a young daughter came around, they had little use for her. While Mary Keirian, the Duchess, began to become quite attached to the little girl (as most mothers do), the Duke refused to keep her any longer. The ten years they kept her were difficult ones for her family, to be sure. The darling creature that was their daughter, little Maria Keirian, was costing them far to much for their liking, so they had to discover a way to dispose of the child.
With a final wish, "Take care...", from her mother, little Maria was taken with their servants (they had few, but enough to show off) to be rid from their family. She was hardly the blemish they treated her as; she was a true beauty that was simply born in the wrong time and the wrong place. Not knowing where she was going, she asked her nurse, Miss Maude, who nervously told Maria that she would soon be executed.
Frightened out of her mind, the girl acted on impulse. With a high-pitched shriek, she threw herself out of the carriage without a thought, but unfortunately fell down into a shallow river. Maria hit her head against a rock, not dying but losing her memory.
Upon waking up, Maria couldn't remember who or where she was, bearing very selective memory. She could remember her nurse quite clearly. She could pick her mother's face from a crowd. However, for the life of her, she could not remember her own name. For nearly a day she sat on the riverbank, muttering words to herself, trying to recall her identity, where she was from, or what she was doing sitting, sopping-wet, on a marshy stream side. Two words shone clearly in her mind. "Take care..."
From then on, she was determined her name was Cayre, but had no recollection of why she was all alone in the British countryside. She immediately rose up off the ground in search of a place to rest. Wandering around, telling people her short story of life, she acquired residences for days, even months at a time, before becoming too much of a burden and being let go from family to family. She had counted the days, but soon lost track. She learned about things ranging from becoming a woman to what happens after death, but still never learned about herself.
Cayre lost her youth through knowledge. Knowledge had brought her to a point where she knew far to much for her age. Not sure of what was normal or not, skipping from family to family, known only as 'Cayre', she was unaware of the sins she was living as she lost her innocence (quite willingly) to a teen-aged boy, Rayne, whose room she shared. The rough, harsh pleasure that she fought through changed her in a way. She was no longer a child. All the forlorn kisses and words of love had lead to something animalistic and painful. Cayre couldn't believe something spoken of so beautifully could have been so... uncomfortable.
After that experience, the boy was still as sweet as he always had been. Cayre was ultimately confused with the odd, elusive animal called man. He could make her feel so loved and so hurt all at once. Awkwardly thinking that this kind boy was the same one that had made her feel splitting pain in all the places that felt so wrong, she had to run and leave her beloved Rayne behind.
Just moments from fleeing the most stable home she'd ever found, Cayre wound around a tree in the woods, leaning on it for rest. Seeing a white blur through the corner of her eyes, she spun around, only to trip and fall into a hole by the side of the tree.
She (quite literally) had stumbled across Underland. It felt so right to her; a beautiful, clean, earthy land that was free for her to enjoy. She lived a rather nondescript five or so years with the wildlife and meeting a few men and women along the way. She had come across the Mad Hatter and the March Hare every once in a while, but as attractive as the Hatter may be, she attempted to keep her distance. In all honesty, the frightened her quite a bit. She often heard of a girl named Alice, her name echoed through the wind in the trees, but Alice never passed through Underland until now.
Presently, Cayre has discovered the kingdoms of Underland. She was quite unaware of there being a cold war going on, but she discovered in good time. Cayre was unwilling to take sides before she knew both players. The White Queen came across as a sort of over-elegant queenly type, to which Cayre was definitely not oriented toward. The Red Queen seemed not much better until Cayre heard of her Knave, Stayne. If the two-letter difference in their names wasn't enough, he had the same confident posture and striking black eyes as her once-upon-a-time-beloved.
She was instantly obsessed, but came across with her flirting in a much different method than the Red Queen did. In other words, she was much more forceful than clingy. First, she nuzzled her way into the Queen's personal possy, finding it easy because of her height. Of course, Stayne shot her a smile here and there. In a word, it's a crush. Just a gigantic, horrible crush. Cayre confronted him one day, smiling slyly, telling him that he could break free of his queen whenever he wanted-- this is where we've left off, this is where her story starts.

rules? • indeed I have! I would ask Cayre to read them, but I doubt her reading skills are phenomenal. (her education stopped at age 10, mind you, for ever since she's been lost in wonderland!)
anything else? • you should all know that despite her oddly wild past (for the 19th Century, that is), she is very warm and kind at heart.
