hair colour • dirty blonde

overall appearance • Alice is a typical nineteen year-old girl when it comes to her looks. Her dirty blonde hair falls just below her shoulders in gentle curls when let down, though she usually has it pinned up, as per the era's fashion.
Most often, she is seen wearing long dresses (season-appropriate, of course), yet all have two things in common: one, that they are blue (her favourite colour); and two, that they have some sort of lace fringe. She loves lace and would rather not live without it.
She keeps her makeup simple. Not too much rouge (hardly ever any, actually), and very seldom does she think to apply kohl or any variation of it- there isn't sense in it, really. She always makes sure there is some sort of fragrance about her, however. Usually it is of lilacs, but occasionally she'll find some new scent to try out, though always reverts back to the old, tried and true one.
Even in Underland, her appearance doesn't change at all. She still wears her blue dresses and lilac scent... though every now and again, when she's in an exceptionally mischievous mood, you might catch her wearing the Hatter's hat.

history • Alice Kingsleigh was born into a well-to-do household one fine fourth day of May in 1952. Located in London, England, her house was a grand one in every sense of the word. There were lovely hardwood floors, and staircases lined with lavish carpets. The walls were always covered in paintings of ancestors or the countryside, not that Alice paid them any mind.
From the age of four onwards, Alice's mind was always working. She imagined stories of epic proportions- she fought trolls and tamed dragons, with her cat, Dinah, as her partner in crime. There was never a dull moment in Alice Kingsleigh's life. Especially not on the hot, sunny afternoon of her seventh birthday.
Alice had been sitting near the brook behind her house, minding her own business, when she spotted a little white rabbit. Now, it wasn't as though she'd never seen a white rabbit before; quite to the contrary, she'd seen white rabbits thousands of times whilst she lay beside the babbling brook listening for melodies. Today, however, the white rabbit that had happened along looked nothing like any other that she'd seen.
That little rabbit, with waistcoat and pocket watch, scurried off, leaving Alice to follow as he darted under a tree and out of sight. Being a curious little thing then, Alice didn't hesitate to climb down the rabbit hole after him. Once quite a ways in, she was about to turn back when she slipped and went falling down, down down...
Oh the sights she saw that day! A lifetime's worth of memories in a mere ten minutes of falling. She thought it was never going to end- the cupboards, the chairs, the clocks! All were a delight to see, but what she really wanted to see was that little white rabbit, and indeed she saw him again when she landed.
That day led her on a remarkable journey, through too-small doors and fields of talkative flowers, past a smiling cat and into the wrath of the Queen of Hearts. However, her fun (and fear) was not meant to last.
She awoke later that afternoon, stumped as to how she could possibly be lying once more beside the brook with Dinah. She guessed that one of the kind people from Wonderland must have dropped her off back in her world- probably the rabbit.
As she grew older, Alice concluded that her adventures in the marvelous world she'd called 'Wonderland' were no more than a dream she'd had as a child, and dismissed them as fiction, wanting to forever be rid of them and the childhood foolishness they symbolized.
Twelve years later, Alice found herself at a party shortly after her father's death. Though still grieving, she'd decided to go, in an attempt to lift her dampened spirit. Much to her surprise, however, she receives a marriage proposal, and in shock, she runs off to hide in the gardens and collect her thoughts. How could he expect her to marry him, let alone so soon after her father's death? While trying to reason with herself (because she usually gives herself very good advice), Alice spotted for the first time in twelve years that very same white rabbit, and followed him.
Down, down, down the rabbit hole she went again, until she found herself in Wonderland... or was it Underland? She doesn't know anymore. All she knows is that she is destined to slay the Jabberwocky that has been terrorizing Underland and stop the Red Queen.
"... oh sure! That's alright! It's not like they're asking a lot or anything!"
