chances are this isn't your first rpg. you probably have a good grasp on the basic rules that they have. however, if you're still not familiar with them, here is a list that are basic guidelines for a happy rpg experience.
if need be, more rules may be added with time. let's hope we don't have to do that.
ooc/general rules
♥ Absolutely NO bullying of ANY kind. This includes racism, religion bashing, sexuality, etc. It's stupid and completely unacceptable. If you are found to be bullying another person, you will be BANNED, no questions asked.
♣ We're all mature human beings here, which means that swearing is acceptable both in- and out-of-character. This doesn't mean that you can curse or swear every five seconds. Be reasonable, yes? You will receive a PM from an admin if you swear excessively.
♠ As with all boards, ACTIVITY IS A MUST. We can't run a successful rpg if people don't come online. That being said, you're not expected to be online for ten hours every day. You are obligated, however, to log in at least three times, and post in a thread (ic or ooc) at least once a week. The only exception to this rule is if you have posted in the board of absences.
♦ Speaking of activity, if you're going to just sign up and never log in ever again, you can just click that little 'X' up in the right-hand corner of your browser. If you decide to join and reserve a canon, YOU HAVE THREE DAYS TO POST AN APPLICATION (that's a LOT of time) or your account name will be reset (to your username you signed up with) and the character will be available again. Deal?
♥ We all love spam. It's part of life. However, please don't feel the need to spam every board, hmm? In fact, how about no spam at all?! KTHX.
ic rules
[/b] have created. By this, I mean that you may only create one open thread for people to reply to. You are allowed one open thread on each character's account. Until you finish that thread, you are not permitted to create another open one. Redundant? Yes. Reinforced? I certainly hope so. You may participate in other peoples' threads and may make threads that are tagged for a specific person*, but you may not have fifty open threads for people to reply to. It leaves too many dead threads on the board and then it really starts to become inactive.♥ There is no post minimum, but please be reasonable. Don't write novels, and don't write one sentence, deal? If the person posting with you seems to be putting a great deal of thought into their posts, you might try doing the same.
♣ All members will be allowed only one open thread (per character) that they
* Please only create these threads if you have pm'd or spoken to this person in the cbox and they have agreed to post with you.[/size]
♠ After you've posted your application, please head on over to the claims area and CLAIM YOUR FACE. How embarrassing would it be for all of us to be walking around with big black holes where our faces should be? You must have a HUMAN face claim unless your character is not a human... like the white rabbit over there. No anime, no drawings... and perhaps not yourself.
♦ Avatars should be 140x200 pixels (that's 140 wide by 200 high). They must display your character's face- we want to know what they look like, after all. Your signature cannot exceed 500x200 pixels, though you may make it smaller if you wish. It does not have to display your character, but something that has to do with your character would be nice. Please keep in mind that while we're in Wonderland, it's still a magical place that is found in the late 1800s. Can we try to keep pictures of Miley Cyrus in her pink t-shirts and blue jeans to a minimum? If you don't understand, please send Alice a message. She will be overjoyed to explain it to you.
♥ While it isn't specified on the application, your character may be of any sexuality (gay, bisexual, straight) without fear of discrimination. See that rule above? That one that says no bullying? Yeah, that applies in-character, too.
♣ Another thing that isn't required in the application is your character's personality. Sometimes it's hard to determine exactly what their personality is going to be before you start playing with them, so you have the freedom to display their personality through your posts. That in mind, please make an effort to actually GIVE them a personality- no Bella Swans, please and thanks.
♠ Sticking with the above theme, no Mary Sues or Gary Stus (or whatever the heck you want to call them). No perfect characters. Are you perfect? As much as I know you'd love to think you're a God or Goddess, you're not... which brings me to my next point:
♦ NO Godmodding. As stated above, you are NOT God, therefore you do not rank supreme over others and, by extension, cannot control their character's actions. Give the other character a chance to react to what your character has just said or done- don't react for them. Then you're writing a story, and there are other forums for that. One exception for this is if you've got a random no-name character, say the waitress at the cafĂ©.
♥ You may NOT kill another character (unless it is one of those aforementioned no-namers) without the consent of the person playing that character, and an admin (or both if you love us)!
♣ One last thing, because it never ceases to bother me. Can we cut out all of that teen angst/drama? Yes, alright, Alice in Wonderland is associated with drugs and stuff, but this rpg is NOT. You are not a present-day little blonde prep that loves boys, hallucinogens and her cell phone. It may come as a shock, but they didn't have cell phones in the 1800s.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
♥ ♣ ♠ ♦
if you've read this far down, please put lost in wonderland in the rules section of the application.
as stated before, rules can be added to the list if we find a need for them. please don't make us, though... it's a bit annoying. =)
if you have any questions whatsoever about the above rules (or anything, actually) please do not hesitate to pm an admin. we don't tend to bite.
